The steps below are for setting up your Slamdot email account inside Microsoft Outlook 2010 using POP.
- In Microsoft Outlook, click the File tab, and select Info on the left.
- On the Account Information page, click the Account Settings button, and select Account Settings from the drop-down menu.
- In the Account Settings window on the E-mail tab, click New.
- On the next page in the Add New Account window, do not enter any information, and select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types option, and then click Next.
- Click Internet E-mail , and then click Next.
- On the Internet E-Mail Settings window, enter the following information: Your NameYour first and last name.E-mail AddressYour email address.Account TypeSelect “POP3” from the drop-down list.Incoming Mail Server_mail.yourdomain.com_Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)_mail.yourdomain.com_User NameYour full email address again (must include @yourdomain.com)PasswordYour email account password.
- Leave Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) unchecked.
- Click More Settings.
- In the Internet E-mail Settings window, go to the Outgoing Server tab.
- Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
- Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
- Go to the Advanced tab, and change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 587.
- Click OK.
- Click the Test Account Settings button under Test Settings. If everything is setup properly, all tests should run successfully and pass.
- If the tests run fine, then click Next.
- Click Finish.
