Automatic WordPress Updates Now Included in Managed Plans

Last week we sent email updates out to our hosting customers telling them about the new offers, benefits and upgrades that we’ve got available with our various hosting packages. If you’re not on our mailing list (and hey, you can correct that by giving us a shout) or you’ve got questions, here are the basics - and, as always, let us know if we can help you figure out what choice is best for you!

Keeping your WordPress installation up to date is an important security measure. The developers of WordPress are constantly updating the software, not only improving its functionality but fixing security issues as they’re discovered. One of the few downsides to using such a popular content management system is that there are a lot of hackers out there invested in learning tricks to break in to WordPress sites, and the folks at WordPress are always updating to make certain that they keep ahead of it.

If you allow your installation to fall behind, though, and let too much time pass between updates, your site will become more and more vulnerable to attack. If you’re not on a plan that includes WordPress management, the responsibility of making those updates falls on you. You can perform these updates yourself or we can perform the updates for you upon request, but our hourly rate will apply.
